Altausseer See Süd is a typical alpine lake located in the Styrian Salzkammergut region at the foot of the Toten Gebirge, approximately 2 km² in size. The bathing area is situated on the southern shore of the lake, about 1000 metres east of Altaussee village centre.

Water

Alpine lake of approximately 2 km² area. Mean depth 34 metres, maximum depth 81 metres. The lake is primarily fed by underwater springs with no significant surface inflows. Water renewal time approximately 6.4 years.

Location

Southern shore of Altausseer See, approximately 1000 metres east of Altaussee village centre in Styria, Austria. A restaurant is located in the immediate vicinity.

Facilities

Showers and toilets available. Dogs and other pets are not permitted at the bathing water.
