Plage Face RD 74 is a bathing beach located in Gouville-sur-mer (commune of Anneville-sur-mer) in the Manche department. Coastal bathing water in a marine environment influenced by tidal currents and weather patterns. The zone of influence includes the Geffosses harbour and surrounding coastal areas.

Location

Gouville-sur-mer, Manche department, France. The beach is located facing Road D74 (RD 74).

Water Quality

Water quality is monitored for faecal indicator microorganisms according to Directive 2006/7/CEE. Historical bathing water quality classifications are documented from 2013 onwards. Shell farming zones and recreational shellfish harvesting areas are also monitored bacteriologically in the vicinity.

Risks

Potential pollution sources identified include: discharges from Geffosses harbour, domestic wastewater from collective and individual sewage systems, agricultural runoff and livestock grazing impacts, stormwater, camping and mobile home facilities, compostage platform, mussel deposits, and sediment resuspension in Geffosses harbour.
