Water Quality

Water quality was classified as good at the end of the 2013 bathing season according to Directive 2006/7/CEE. Monitoring includes measurement of faecal contamination indicators and shellfish production zone bacterial surveillance.

Risks

Potential pollution sources identified include coastal discharges (particularly from the Dy stream), domestic wastewater from collective and non-collective sanitation systems, stormwater runoff, agricultural activities, wild camping in the Pirou Armanville dunes, and deposits of small mussels.
