Apicchi is a coastal bathing water located in Framura, La Spezia, Liguria. The beach features high, rocky cliffs with coniferous vegetation and shrubland behind. The water body is classified as an excellent bathing area based on 2008-2011 monitoring results. The Ligurian Sea does not experience cyanobacteria blooms due to oligotrophic conditions, and there have been no cases of potentially toxic algal strains.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2008-2011). No coastal wastewater treatment plants, conduits, or Imhoff tanks are present. River mouth (Fosso Porticciolo) identified as a potential pollution impact source. Short-term pollution events and anomalous situations are under modelling approach evaluation.

Risks

River mouth discharge. Cyanobacteria blooms are not characteristic of the area due to oligotrophic conditions. No cases of potentially toxic algal species proliferation recorded in the past four years.
