Water Quality

Water quality classification: EXCELLENT (2008-2011). No coastal treatment plants or sewage systems are present in the area.

Risks

River mouth discharge from Torrente Castagnola identified as a potential pollution source. Cyanobacterial blooms are not characteristic of the Ligurian Sea due to oligotrophic conditions. No cases of potentially toxic algal species proliferation have been recorded.
