Baia Bella is a bathing water area located on the Calabrian coast near Roseto Capo Spulico. It features a pebble beach with an articulated coastline and a gentle seabed slope of 2.3% from the waterline to the 5-metre isobat. The beach sediments range from medium grain sizes of 0.18 mm to greater than 2 mm. The water is classified as excellent quality.

Location

Roseto Capo Spulico, Cosenza province, Calabria region. The bathing area extends 1.558 km and is located between the Fosso Perlo stream mouth and the Canale del Roito channel mouth.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. No specific pollution control measures are currently in place.

Risks

Short-duration pollution events caused by surface runoff from agricultural areas occur at the Vallone del Roito channel mouth. No cyanobacterial or algal blooms have been recorded in the past four years.
