Bar Millefiori is a sandy beach located in Ribera, Sicily, in the coastal Strait of Sicily. The beach has a gentle to moderate slope with terrain degrading toward the shore. The bathing area extends 0.260 km and is classified as excellent water quality.

Location

Ribera, Agrigento province, Sicily. The competent authorities are located at Comune di Ribera, Corso Umberto I° 30, Tel. 0925 561111, and ASP 1 Agrigento, viale della Vittoria 321, 0922407111.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. The water body is part of the Verdura basin and smaller basins between Verdura and Magazzolo. A sewage treatment network exists, though conformity with EU Directive 91/271/CE standards is uncertain due to unavailable data.

Risks

Potential pollution sources include a sewage pumping station, overflow from the pumping station, and a pressurised pipe located on the beach. Accidental faults to the pumping station and pressurised pipe have been identified. No cyanobacterial or macroalgal proliferation events have been recorded in the previous four years. Temporary bathing prohibitions may be imposed during exceptional weather or marine conditions.
