Water

Artificial reservoir (Talsperre) with an area of approximately 800 hectares. Average depth is 25 metres with a maximum depth of 55 metres. Water level fluctuates by up to 15 metres. Catchment area is between 100 and 1000 square kilometres. Water exchange time exceeds 30 days. Water transparency ranges from 2 to 7 metres with an average of 4 metres. pH ranges from 7.4 to 8.7 with an average of 8. The water body is stratified and mesotrophic in nutrient status.

Water Quality

Water quality classification is excellent for years 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025. No relevant pollution sources have been identified. Municipal wastewater treatment plants, private treatment systems, stormwater from separate sewage systems, combined sewer overflows, untreated rainwater discharges, and rainwater treatment facilities are present but have no relevant impact on water quality.

Risks

No cyanobacterial blooms have been observed in the past four years and no danger of future cyanobacterial mass development is assessed. The danger of future mass development of phytoplankton is assessed as low. No occurrence of Cercariae (duck parasites) is recorded.
