Water exchange time: exceeding 30 days. Substrate composition: sandy and silty/rocky. Geologically significantly modified. Water column stratification is present.

Water Quality

Classification: Excellent for all years 2015–2018. Water temperature: 11–22 °C. pH: 7.3–8.5. Transparency: 1.5–4+ metres (mean 2.5 metres). Nutrient level: mesotrophic. No cyanobacterial blooms observed in the last four years; future risk assessed as low. Future risk of phytoplankton mass development assessed as low. Occasional strong growth of macrophytes may affect swimming use. Anthropogenic influences present in the catchment (municipal wastewater treatment, industrial treatment facilities, septic tanks, runoff from settlement areas, fishing) but assessed as having no relevant impact on bathing water quality due to the reservoir's size and intact self-purification capacity. Short-term turbidity and elevated bacterial counts possible after heavy rainfall or sediment disturbance from visitor activity.

Risks

Occasional strong growth of macrophytes may impair use of the bathing area. Potential for short-term turbidity and elevated bacterial counts following heavy rainfall or during periods of high visitor numbers due to sediment disturbance.
