Water temperature ranges from 16 to 23 degrees Celsius with a mean of 19 degrees Celsius. Water transparency ranges from 2 to 7 meters with a mean of 4 meters. pH values range from 7.4 to 8.7 with a mean of 8. The water body is stratified. The catchment area is 100 to 1000 square kilometers. The shoreline substrate is sandy and rocky.

Located near Attendorn in Kreis Olpe. The bathing area is operated by Hansestadt Attendorn, Kölner Str. 12, 57439 Attendorn.

Water Quality

No relevant pollution sources have been identified. Discharge from municipal wastewater treatment, household treatment systems, mixed water overflows, rainwater inputs, and rainwater treatment facilities were assessed as having no relevant impact on water quality. Agricultural runoff, land use activities including pastures, sealed surfaces, residential areas, industrial areas, and camping sites all have no relevant influence on bathing water quality. The profile was established in 2026 and will be reviewed if the classification deteriorates.

Risks

No cyanobacterial water blooms have been observed within the past four years, and no risk of future cyanobacterial mass development is anticipated. The risk of future phytoplankton mass development is assessed as low. No cercariae (duck flu causing bather's dermatitis) have been detected.
