Water

Location

The bathing water is located near Vlotho in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is operated by Familienfreizeitplatz GmbH at Borlefzenstr. 2, 32602 Vlotho. The UTM coordinates are E: 493488, N: 5780320. The lake is situated at an elevation of 45.6 metres above sea level.

Water Quality

Water quality classified as 'excellent' in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018. No identifiable sources of regular water quality pollution have been detected. No microbiological or chemical sediment contamination observed.

Risks

During heavy rainfall or storms, water turbidity increases due to sediment resuspension. High bird populations cause contamination from bird droppings. During Weser River flooding, the bathing lake can be inundated, potentially introducing contaminants from the river, though negative impacts on water quality have not been observed to date. Cercariae (duck itch) present but no significant contamination reported as of 2015. Medium risk of future phytoplankton blooms. Low risk of cyanobacterial mass development.
