Bubių tvenkinys bathing area is located in Šiaulių district, Lithuania. It is a public bathing site on a pond with a natural sandy shoreline. The beach is approximately 250 metres long with an average water depth of 0.9 metres and a maximum depth of 2.0 metres. The bathing area can accommodate approximately 600 visitors during peak season under favourable weather conditions.

Pond (Bubių tvenkinys). Average water depth 0.9 metres, maximum depth 2.0 metres. Beach length 250 metres. Shoreline structure: natural, sandy. Dominant sediment type: sand and gravel. Average annual discharge in the basin: 8.35 m³/s. Water body type classification: Type 1. Ecological status: good.

Location

Šiaulių district, Šiaulių municipality, Bubių parish, Lithuania. Coordinates: X=55.8647, Y=23.1344. The beach is situated on the opposite side from a mooring area for boats and water bicycles.

Facilities

One toilet. Waste management: two to three waste containers maintained daily during the season by Bubių parish. Pets are prohibited from being brought onto or bathed in the bathing area.

Water Quality

Water quality has consistently met excellent quality standards for the 2018–2024 monitoring period. Lithuania has submitted reports to the European Commission since 2008 in accordance with Directive 2006/7/EB. Water clarity monitoring has been conducted. No significant pollution sources affecting water quality have been identified.

Risks

Short-term pollution may occur from surface rainwater runoff and soil erosion. During summer season with high air and water temperatures, negative effects on lake flora and fauna are possible. Short-term pollution typically subsides within 1–2 days after rain ceases.
