The beach at Buggyområdet is a wide sandy beach located on the west coast of Fanø, facing Fanø Bay southwest of Rindby. The beach consists of fine sand with scattered small stones, and the seafloor also comprises fine sand. The beach is approximately 250 meters wide, with the buggy area extending approximately 3 kilometers southward. The beach features three reefs where it is often possible to reach the bottom, though landing between them is uncertain. Tidal currents are strong and require caution, particularly during rising water. Strong offshore winds are common on Fanø, making inflatables inadvisable.

Water

Saltwater in Fanø Bay. Water depth is less than 2 meters at a distance of 500 meters from the coast. The area is affected by tidal currents that shift approximately every 6 hours. Primary current direction is from the west.

Location

Fanø, southwest of Rindby on the west coast. Access by car from Rindby Strand, with vehicles permitted on the beach at a maximum speed of 30 km/h. Parking is available on the beach itself, though not close to the shoreline due to tidal effects. The beach is bordered by characteristic dunes separating the strand from the town.

Facilities

Warning flags for deteriorated water quality, rescue buoy, waste bins, parking on beach, lifeguard stations. Beach numbered with strand numbers for emergency services reference. Windsurfing and buggy use are permitted in designated areas. Dogs must be kept on leash. No facilities for showers, toilets, or disabled access are mentioned.

Sudden contamination from ship accidents, tanker spills, and sewage line breaks is possible. Glass shards, litter, and chemical contamination including oil spills may occur. Strong offshore winds make inflatable toys and air mattresses inadvisable. Tidal currents require caution.
