Water

Lake (ežeras) in the Šventosios river sub-basin. Beach length: 241 meters. Average water depth: 1.3 meters. Sediment composition: predominantly mud and sand. The shoreline consists of fine-grained yellowish sand with natural vegetation including reeds, sedges, and iris plants projecting above the water surface.

Location

Located in Utena district, Utena municipality, Lithuania, in the Utena city eldership administrative area. Coordinates: X=55.5028, Y=25.6033. Part of the Šventosios river sub-basin within the Nemunas river basin.

Facilities

Stationary toilet building. Rest areas with grass and trees. Children's play zones. 31 waste bins. Pets are prohibited on the beach. Maximum capacity: approximately 100 people during peak season under favorable weather conditions.

Water Quality

Water quality has been classified as excellent since 2012 through 2024. Monitoring has been conducted annually according to Directive 2006/7/EC. Lithuania has reported excellent water quality for this site from 2018 to 2024.

Risks

Short-term pollution possible during heavy rainfall; water quality returns to normal within 1-2 days after rain ends. No systematic pollution sources identified. Possible momentary water contamination from irresponsible human behavior. No algae blooms, large algae, or marine phytoplankton studies conducted; visual blue-green algae monitoring was performed.
