Dürener Badesee is an artificial lake located in Düren-Gürzenich, Germany. The bathing water has been officially designated since at least 1992. The lake has a sandy substrate resulting from former open-pit mining and gravel extraction. A sandy beach and meadow area are available for bathing.

Artificial lake. Maximum depth 11 metres. Water transparency 2 metres. Sandy substrate. Water temperature range 9.7–25.2 °C (mean 19.25 °C). pH range 7.4–8.2 (mean 7.91). Conductivity range 99–504 µS·cm⁻¹ (mean 422 µS·cm⁻¹). Water renewal occurs through rainfall and periodic discharge from the Randbach retention area during high water events.

Located in Düren-Gürzenich, Düren, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The beach section extends 350 metres. Sampling location coordinates: UTM E 319954, N 5631088.

Water Quality

Classified as excellent for four consecutive years (2015–2018). Water body renewal mechanism in place. No identified microbiological or chemical sediment contamination.

Risks

Frequent bird population activity requires monitoring and potentially culling. No cercariae (duck flea) detected. No cyanobacterial blooms observed in the preceding four years, and no risk of future mass development identified. No macroalgae or problematic phytoplankton detected.
