Ellines is a sandy, linear beach located within a bay formed by rocky sides in Protaras, Cyprus. The beach has an average width of approximately 15 metres with no vegetation in the main area except for shrubland at the edges and palms with grass in the upper section. Large hotel facilities with paved parking areas surround the beach. The swimming zone features a sandy substrate with rocks along the bay's sides.

Water

Coastal bay within the Protaras water body. Beach length: 25 metres. Average water depth: 1.5 metres. Maximum water depth: 3.5 metres. Sandy substrate with rocks present along both the northern and southern sides of the bay.

Location

Located in Protaras within the Paralimni Municipality, Famagusta District, Cyprus. Coordinates: 34.040070°E, 35.034090°N. Large hotel facilities with paved parking are available nearby.

Facilities

Umbrellas and sun loungers are available. Rubbish bins are present. Changing rooms, toilets, and lifeguard services are planned but not yet implemented. No public facilities currently available. Beach cleaning is managed by Paralimni Municipality. Water sports infrastructure is located approximately 50 metres away.

Water Quality

Water quality is not currently monitored. The beach is located within areas vulnerable to nitrate pollution. Potential pollution sources include possible wastewater discharge from hotel units, possible sewage inflow into the marine area, and vessel activity from nearby water sports facilities. Moderate risk level assessed for extensive macroalgae and phytoplankton development.
