Pernera Paralimniou is a sandy beach located within a small semi-natural horseshoe-shaped cove in the Protaras water body. The beach is 260 meters long with an average width of 25 meters and is framed by rocky substrate formations at the cove's edges. Hotel facilities and recreational infrastructure are concentrated in the northern and southern sections of the beach. The beach has been awarded Blue Flag status and offers various amenities for swimmers and water sports enthusiasts.

Protaras water body (code: CY_25-C3). Sandy beach within a horseshoe-shaped cove. Average water depth: 1.5 meters. Maximum water depth: 3 meters. Beach length: 260 meters. Average beach width: 25 meters. Seabed composed of sandy material with rocky substrate exposures in the northern and southern sections near the shoreline.

Located in Paralimniou Municipality, Famagusta District, Cyprus. Coordinates: 34.0418E, 35.0319N (ETRS89).

Blue Flag beach. Public biological toilets. Changing rooms. Umbrellas and sunbeds available. Waste collection bins. Lifeguard services with rescue equipment operational from 10:00 to 18:00. Infrastructure for water sports activities. Beach cleaning maintained by Paralimniou Municipality.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as excellent based on long-term monitoring data since Cyprus joined the European Union in 2004. The coastal water body is in good ecological condition. Low risk of macroalgae and phytoplankton eutrophication development.

Risks

Possible sources of short-term pollution include malfunctions in sewage systems of beach developments and passing or moored recreational vessels. No recorded short-term pollution incidents during swimming seasons 2008-2010. Risk of short-term pollution occurrence is negligible.
