Esseler Badesee is a gravel pit lake created in 2004, located between the districts of Buchholz, Essel, and Schwarmstedt. The bathing area has a usable beach length of approximately 150 metres with a maximum water depth of 10 metres. Swimming is at one's own risk as there is no lifeguard supervision.
