Coastal bathing waters off Nice extending to 300 meters from the shoreline.

Location

Nice, France. Monitoring covers 26 sampling sites distributed between La Lanterne and Coco Beach.

Facilities

Daily visual surveillance of water is conducted by municipal agents. Water cleaning is performed daily by cleaning boats from the city's cleanliness department.

Water Quality

Water quality is monitored for Escherichia coli and intestinal enterococci. Thresholds for good quality are intestinal enterococci at 370/100ml and Escherichia coli at 1000/100ml. Weekly monitoring occurs during the bathing season, with results interpreted according to ANSES standards. Closure procedures are implemented if pollution is confirmed by counter-analysis.

Risks

Pathogenic germs from bathers, wastewater and stormwater networks, and terrestrial inputs from watercourses. Temporary discharges from sanitation networks may occur preventively based on discharge volume.
