Location

Nice, France. The monitoring authority extends to 300 metres from the municipal shoreline. Twenty-six sampling sites are distributed between La Lanterne and Coco Beach.

Season

1 June to 30 September 2024.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified based on enterococci intestinalis and Escherichia coli measurements. Good quality threshold: enterococci below 370 per 100 ml and Escherichia coli below 1000 per 100 ml. Weekly monitoring from June to September. Results interpreted according to ANSES thresholds under European directive standards. Exceedance of standards triggers counter-analysis and investigation of sewerage networks, with potential beach closure if pollution is confirmed.

Potential sources of pollution include domestic sewage, urban runoff, industrial and agricultural pollution. Bacterial contamination from sewerage and stormwater networks.
