Water quality classification for 2024 complies with Decreto-Lei 135/09 as amended by Decreto-Lei nº 113/2012. Zero days of bathing prohibition or advisories due to short-term pollution events in the 2024 bathing season. No short-term pollution occurrences recorded. Potential microbiological pollution sources include diffuse fecal contamination from surface waters, solid waste from beach activities, marine litter, bird colonies, and high user numbers.
