Foce Borlezza is a bathing area located at the mouth of the Borlezza stream in Castro on Lake Iseo. The water has been classified as excellent based on monitoring data from 2015–2018. No significant infrastructure for swimmers is available at the site.

Location

Castro, Bergamo province, Lombardy. The bathing area is situated at the end of the inhabited area at the mouth of the Borlezza stream. Animals are not permitted.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2015–2018). E. coli: 95th percentile 61 CFU/100 ml, 90th percentile 37 CFU/100 ml. Intestinal enterococci: 95th percentile 25 CFU/100 ml, 90th percentile 15 CFU/100 ml.

Risks

Short-duration pollution events may occur due to intense meteorological events, accidental discharges, and malfunctioning overflow and treatment systems. Cyanobacterial monitoring is conducted annually with concentrations consistently below threshold values; no toxic effects on swimmers or aquatic environments have been documented. Macroalgae and phytoplankton proliferation is not applicable.
