Coastal marine water. The water body extends 1.43 km. The area is part of the Foce Schiapparo–Foce Capoiale water body, within the Torrente Trippa watershed.

Location

Cagnano Varano, Foggia Province, Puglia region, Italy. The bathing area is located 30 metres to the left of the mouth of the Capoiale canal.

Water Quality

Classified as excellent for the period 2017–2020. No direct wastewater discharges to the sea are present. The potential point source of pollution is the Foce Capoiale canal port located at the eastern boundary of the bathing area.

Risks

The Foce Capoiale canal port is located at the eastern boundary of the bathing area. No cyanobacterial blooms, toxic algal proliferation, macroalgal blooms, or phytoplankton proliferation have been detected. No short-term pollution events have been recorded in the past four years.
