Foce de Pilla is a sandy beach located in the Lesina Lagoon in Puglia, Italy. It is classified as a transition water body and has achieved excellent water quality status for the period 2017–2020. The bathing area covers 0.733 km² and is situated 100 meters to the right of the mouth of the Foce.

Transition water body. The Lesina Lagoon extends from La Punta to Fiume Lauro/Foce Schiapparo. The bathing area covers 0.733 km². The hydrographic basin is Frammatteo-Nisi.

Location

Lesina, Province of Foggia, Puglia region, Italy. The bathing area is located 100 meters to the right of the mouth of the Foce in the Lesina Lagoon.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2017–2020). No direct wastewater discharges to the sea are present. Potential pollution sources include channel mouths that could transport effluent during intense rainfall events.

Risks

During intense precipitation, increased water flow in the channels could transport potential effluent to the sea. No cyanobacterial blooms have been recorded. No toxic algal proliferation has been detected.
