Location

Lesina, province of Foggia, Puglia region, Italy. Located 30 meters to the right of Foce de Pilla in the Laguna di Lesina, between La Punta and Fiume Lauro/Foce Schiapparo.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Good (2017–2020). Potential pollution source identified: canal outflows (foci di canali). No direct sewage discharges to sea are present.

Risks

Short-duration pollution events may occur during heavy rainfall, when increased water flow from canal outflows could carry effluents to sea. No cyanobacterial or toxic algal blooms have been documented in the past four years.
