Location

Porto Cesareo, Lecce Province, Puglia region. The bathing water is located at the southern boundary of the Porto Cesareo-Torre Colimena Marine Protected Area.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2017–2020). No direct wastewater discharges to the sea are present. The main potential point source of pollution is the mouth of the Bacino Bianco. No short-duration pollution events were recorded in the last four years.

Risks

The mouth of the Bacino Bianco represents a potential point source of pollution affecting bathing water quality. No algal blooms or toxic algal strains have been detected. No anomalous situations have been verified.
