Foce del Bacino Tamari is a rocky coastal bathing water located in Porto Cesareo, in the Lecce province of Puglia. The area covers 0.292 square kilometres and is classified as excellent based on water quality monitoring from 2017-2020. The bathing area is situated at the southern boundary of the Porto Cesareo-Torre Colimena Marine Protected Area.

Location

Porto Cesareo, Lecce Province, Puglia region. The bathing water is located at the mouth of the Tamari Basin, within the limits of the Porto Cesareo-Torre Colimena Marine Protected Area.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2017-2020). No direct wastewater discharges to the sea are present. No short-duration pollution events were recorded over the last four years.

Risks

The mouth of the Tamari Basin represents a potential point source of pollution that could affect bathing water quality. No cyanobacteria or algal blooms have been detected. No toxic algal strains have been identified.
