Foce Rio Carbini is a predominantly sandy beach located in Varazze, Liguria, in northern Italy. The bathing area features a flat terrain with the Rio Carbini stream flowing directly onto the beach, and a tourist port to the west. The water body is classified as coastal waters with mountain relief and low stability.

Coastal water body, area 0.507 km². The Rio Carbini stream discharges directly onto the beach. The bathing water body is part of the Varazze-Arenzano water system and bordered by tributaries including Torrente Rianello and Torrente Teiro.

Location

Water Quality

Water quality classified as EXCELLENT for the period 2008–2011. No coastal wastewater treatment plants, sewage channels, or Imhoff tanks are present in the area. River mouth identified as a pollution source. No special monitoring or measures are currently activated.

Risks

River mouth (foce fluviale) identified as a potential pollution source. Cyanobacterial blooms are not characteristic of the Ligurian Sea due to oligotrophic conditions. No cases of potentially toxic algal strains have been recorded in the past four years.
