Foce Schiapparo is a sandy beach bathing area located in Lesina, Puglia, Italy, situated at the mouth of the Schiapparo River. The bathing water is classified as coastal marine. The area covers 0.384 square kilometres and has been rated as excellent quality based on water monitoring data from 2017–2020.

Coastal marine water. Area: 0.384 km². Located within the hydrographic basin of Canale Acquarotta and the water body known as Foce Fortore–Foce Schiapparo.

Location

Lesina, Foggia Province, Puglia Region, Italy. The bathing area is located 30 metres north of the Schiapparo River mouth.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2017–2020). No direct wastewater discharges to sea are present in the area. The potential source of point pollution is the Schiapparo River estuary located at the eastern boundary. No short-duration pollution events were recorded in the past four years.

Risks

The Schiapparo River estuary at the eastern limit of the bathing area represents a potential source of water pollution. No cyanobacterial blooms or toxic algal proliferation has been detected. No anomalous situations have been verified.
