Location

Lesina, Foggia Province, Puglia region, Italy. The bathing water is located at the mouth of the Schiapparo River, 30 meters to the right of the estuary.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2017–2020). No direct sewage discharges to sea are present. The Schiapparo River mouth at the western edge represents the only potential point pollution source.

Risks

The Schiapparo River mouth at the western edge is identified as a potential pollution source. No short-term pollution events were recorded in the last four years. The water is not characterized by algal blooms or cyanobacterial proliferation. No cases of potentially toxic algal strains have been detected.
