Risks

River mouth represents an identified source of potential pollution impacts. Modelling approach for characterising short-duration pollution events is under development. No cases of potentially toxic algal strain proliferation have been recorded. The Ligurian Sea is not characterised by cyanobacterial blooms due to predominantly oligotrophic conditions.
