Location

San Nicandro Garganico, Foggia Province, Puglia region. The bathing area is located in the Lesina Lagoon between La Punta and Fiume Lauro/Foce Schiapparo.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Good (2017-2020). The Zanella Canal outlet at the western boundary is identified as a potential point source of pollution. No direct wastewater discharges to the sea are present.

Risks

Intense precipitation could increase channel flow and transport effluent to the sea via the Zanella Canal outlet. No algal blooms, cyanobacterial proliferation, or toxic algal species have been reported.
