Foce Zanella is a sandy beach bathing water in the Lesina Lagoon, a transitional water body located in San Nicandro Garganico in the Foggia Province of Puglia. The bathing area covers 0.914 square kilometres. Water quality has been classified as good based on monitoring data from 2017 to 2020.

Location

San Nicandro Garganico, Foggia Province, Puglia region. The bathing water is situated within the Lesina Lagoon, extending from La Punta to Fiume Lauro and Foce Schiapparo.

Water Quality

Water quality classified as good for 2017–2020. The Zanella Canal outlet at the eastern boundary has been identified as a potential point source of pollution. No direct sewage discharges to sea are present. No cyanobacterial blooms or toxic algal proliferation detected.

Risks

The Zanella Canal outlet at the eastern limit of the bathing area is identified as a potential pollution source. No short-term pollution events were recorded in the past four years. The area is not characterised by algal blooms or cyanobacterial proliferation.
