July 1st to September 15th, 2021.

Water Quality

Water quality classified according to Decreto-Lei 135/09 (June 3rd) as amended by Decreto-Lei 113/2012 (May 23rd). Classification 2020 status available. Sampling frequency is biweekly. Contamination sources not fully understood; sewerage network malfunction and illegal discharges in the watershed may contribute to water quality problems. Zero days of bathing prohibition due to short-term pollution events during the 2020 bathing season.

Risks

Short-term pollution events of 72 hours or less may occur. Fecal contamination from sources not fully clarified. Potential for cyanobacteria, macroalgae, and phytoplankton proliferation is unlikely.
