Grado - Porto Buso Est is a sandy beach bathing area located in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region of Italy, in the coastal marine waters of the Porto Buso lagoon system. The beach is situated in a lagoon barrier area near the tributaries of the Marano and Grado lagoons. The bathing water has been classified as Excellent based on monitoring data from 2015–2018, with consistently high water quality standards. No sustained pollution events or algal blooms have been recorded in the area.

Coastal marine water in a lagoon barrier area. The bathing area extends 2.239 km and is part of the Porto Buso - S. Andrea water body system, located within the tributaries of the Marano and Grado lagoons.

Location

Grado, Province of Gorizia, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy. The bathing area is centred at coordinates 45.706145°N, 13.261746°E, with an extension spanning approximately 2.24 square kilometres.

Water Quality

Classification: Excellent (reference years 2015–2018). Escherichia coli (90th percentile): 36 CFU/100 ml; Escherichia coli (95th percentile): 47 CFU/100 ml. Intestinal enterococci (90th percentile): 24 CFU/100 ml; Intestinal enterococci (95th percentile): 38 CFU/100 ml. No quality variations were observed during the 2015–2018 bathing seasons. No short-duration pollution events were recorded from 2015 to 2018.

Risks

No cyanobacterial blooms or eutrophic phenomena have been recorded. No cases of potentially toxic algal species proliferation have been detected. No toxic algal species at elevated concentrations have been identified.
