Grado - Valerian is a sandy beach bathing area located in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region of Italy. It is situated in a coastal lagoon area within the Porto Buso - S. Andrea water body. The area covers 2.11 km and has been consistently classified as excellent quality based on monitoring data from 2015–2018.

Location

Located in Grado, Gorizia Province, Friuli Venezia Giulia region, Italy. Coordinates: 45.702305°N, 13.284478°E. The bathing area extends from 45.706180°N, 13.272152°E to 45.701338°N, 13.296290°E.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (reference years 2015–2018). Escherichia coli at 90th percentile: 19 CFU/100 ml; at 95th percentile: 21 CFU/100 ml. Intestinal enterococci at 90th percentile: 17 CFU/100 ml; at 95th percentile: 25 CFU/100 ml. No variations in water quality status were observed during bathing seasons 2015–2018. No short-duration pollution events were recorded in 2015, 2016, 2017, or 2018.

Risks

No eutrophic phenomena caused by cyanobacteria have ever been reported. No cases of potentially toxic algal strain proliferation have been detected. No elevated concentrations of potentially toxic species were found in the last four years.
