Hald Strand is a sandy beach located in a summer house area in Halsnæs Municipality, Denmark. The beach extends for at least 300 meters and features a sandy bottom with small seaweed patches and a gentle slope. Water currents flow predominantly from west to east. The bathing water has been classified as excellent based on monitoring data from 2018–2021.

Location

Located at the summer house area Hald Strand on Klintevej (between numbers 27 and 29) in Halsnæs Municipality. Access to the beach is via stairs located between house numbers 29 and 33. Small parking available on Klintevej. An information board is located near the parking area.

Facilities

Sand beach. No lifeguard. No bathing pier. No disabled access facilities. Parking on Klintevej. Information board at the parking area.

Water Quality

Water quality classified as Excellent based on 16 samples collected over 2018–2021. Historical classifications show Excellent ratings from 2011–2021 (with exceptions in 2002 and 2003). No direct sewage discharge from the summer house area has been observed. No correlation between heavy rainfall and degraded water quality has been detected in the past three years.

Risks

Blue-green algae (cyanobacteria) blooms occur rarely on the north coast and can cause headaches, skin irritation, fever, nausea, and diarrhea. Phytoplankton growth occurs but is rare. Seaweed (macroalgae) wash-up can occur; decaying seaweed may release toxins and harbor disease-causing bacteria. Short-term pollution risk is very small and cannot be predicted in advance. Occasional hazards include discarded waste, broken glass, dead seals, and oil spills.
