Hårbølle Pynt Strand is a 600-metre-long beach on the southern tip of Møn, stretching 30-50 metres wide. The beach consists of fine sand with scattered small stones, and the seabed offshore is similarly composed of fine sand. It overlooks Grønsund in beautiful surroundings near a campsite and summer house area.

Water

Brackish water classified as Grønsund. Water depth increases rapidly offshore; depths under 2 metres extend 50-80 metres from the coast. Current direction is variable, primarily from the west, southwest, and east.

Location

Located on the southern tip of Møn at Grønsund. Access is via Hårbøllevej, which leads to a large car park from which a small path provides access to the beach.

Warning sign for reduced water quality; parking available; waste bins; monitoring checkpoint.

Season

Bathing season begins annually in May when the water quality classification is revised.

Water Quality

Classified as Excellent quality. Classification is based on routine monitoring for E. coli and enterococci bacteria during the bathing season. The classification meets threshold requirements and is recalculated annually each May.

Risks

Risk of cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) blooms is low. Risk of phytoplankton blooms is low. Risk of macroalgae accumulation is low. Risk of chemical pollution (such as oil spills) is very low. Glass shards and litter may occur. Bathers should be aware that water depth increases rapidly and that sudden contamination can occur from accidents involving leisure boats, slurry tanks, and sewer lines.
