Anglas is a bathing area located on the Hérault river in the commune of Brissac in the Hérault department. The beach measures 130 metres in length and 30 metres in width, with a total surface area of 3,900 square metres. The bathing zone is 100 metres long and 30 metres wide on the right bank of the river. The beach consists of large pebbles and grass, with a gentle slope. The water quality is classified as Good under the 2006 European Directive on bathing water management.

Water

Hérault river. The bathing zone is 100 metres long and 30 metres wide with a gentle slope. At the site, the river is 30 metres wide with an average depth of 0.60 metres during low water conditions. The river alternates between zones of rapid and slow flow. The study area includes a large island of pebbles that separates the river into two channels.

Location

Commune of Brissac, Hérault department, Languedoc Roussillon region. The bathing area is located at a camping site. There is no dedicated parking available, though the site is easily accessible to the general public.

Facilities

Unsupervised bathing area with no lifeguard post. Sanitary facilities and rubbish bins are available within the camping area but not in close proximity to the bathing zone. Information signage is displayed at the camping entrance and reception. The site is managed by the Mairie de Brissac.

Season

Summer season, with monitoring period established in April 2011.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as Good according to the 2006 European Directive. The bathing area profile is Type 1 based on good water quality classification.
