Scanzano Jonico, Matera Province, Basilicata region. The sampling point is positioned 150 meters north of the Scanzano Jonico pumping station at coordinates 40.259422 -16.759384. The bathing area extends from coordinates 40.255007 -16.755596 to 40.260712 -16.760127.

Season

Official bathing season: 1 May to 30 September. Monitoring period: 1 April to 30 September.

Water Quality

Water quality classification period: 2017–2020. Monitoring period: 1 April to 30 September with monthly sampling frequency. No bathing prohibitions were issued for the 2020 bathing season.

Risks

A non-bathing zone exists at the Consorzio di Bonifica drainage canal and Scanzano Jonico pumping station discharge, with a prohibited width of 40 meters along the discharge axis (UTM ETRS89 coordinates X: 649423.4865; Y: 4457749.588).
