Location

Scanzano Jonico, Matera province, Basilicata region. The sampling point is situated 100 meters south of Canale Bufaloria (coordinates 40.241115 -16.748974). The bathing area extends from 40.242454 -16.748931 to 40.235860 -16.747006.

Season

Official bathing season: 1 May – 30 September. Monitoring period: 1 April – 30 September.

Water Quality

Water classification period: 2017–2020. Monitoring frequency: monthly. No bathing prohibitions were in effect during the 2020 bathing season.

Risks

Discharge from Canale Fosso Valle Bufaloria represents a non-bathing zone with a width of 40 meters from the discharge outlet (UTM ETRS89 coordinates: X 648869.78; Y 4456464.17).
