Islands Brygge Havnebad is a public harbour bath located on Islands Brygge next to Langebro in Copenhagen. The facility comprises a 75-metre exercise pool, a diving pool with 1, 3, and 5-metre platforms, and two children's pools with depths of 1.2 and 0.3 metres. The water is salt water with weak to strong currents predominantly from northern and southern directions. The facility is open to the public 24 hours year-round, with lifeguard supervision during daytime hours in June, July, and August.

Water

Harbour bath with salt water. Four separate pools: exercise pool 75 metres long, diving pool with platforms at 1, 3, and 5 metres, children's pool with fixed bottom at 1.2 metres depth, and children's pool with fixed bottom at 0.3 metres depth. Water currents range from weak to strong, predominantly from northern and southern directions.

Located on Islands Brygge next to Langebro in Copenhagen. Disabled parking available at Islands Brygge 1B near Langebro Cafe and Galleri Naif. Toilet facilities within 100 metres of the harbour bath. Access routes include pavement, compacted gravel, and cobblestones.

Season

Open year-round. Lifeguard supervision during daytime hours in June, July, and August. In 2023 bathing season, the facility was closed 204 hours (red flag), equivalent to 6.9% of the time.

Water quality classification: Excellent (2020–2023). Monitoring conducted minimum 20 times per year. Risk of cyanobacteria assessed as low. Risk of phytoplankton growth and macroalgae assessed as low. Potential faecal contamination from overflow structures during intense rainfall; nearest overflow structures approximately 200 metres away in Copenhagen Inner Harbour.

Risks

Risk of bacterial contamination from sewage overflow during periods of intense rainfall. Glass fragments, litter, and chemical pollution including oil spills can occasionally occur. Cyanobacteria and phytoplankton growth risks assessed as low.
