Location

Lake Poděbrady is located at an elevation of 186 metres near the town of Poděbrady. The bathing area is operated by the Municipal Technical Services of Poděbrady (Technické služby města Poděbrady s.r.o.), located at Kozinova 1/II, 290 01 Poděbrady.

Facilities

Showers, toilets, camping site for caravans and motorhomes, garden restaurant. Daily visitor attendance exceeds 1000 persons.

Water Quality

Water quality classified as excellent based on microbiological parameters (enterococci and Escherichia coli) according to EU Directive 2006/7/ES. High risk of cyanobacteria development (level III according to Regulation 238/2011). Cyanobacteria counts ranged from 0 to 263 thousand cells per millilitre during the monitoring period. Phosphorus levels slightly exceed limit values. Average water transparency ranged from 1.2 to 3.5 metres. No bathing bans issued by the regional health authority during the recent monitoring period, though bans were issued in 2006 and 2018.

High risk of cyanobacteria occurrence and associated risks. Medium risk contamination from bathers and associated phosphorus input. Flood-related contamination presents high risk. Sport fishing and angling contribute to medium risk of phosphorus input and potential nutrient enrichment.
