Plage de la Sambière is a bathing beach located at the northeastern tip of the Cotentin Peninsula in the commune of Barfleur, Manche department. The beach extends approximately 300 metres south of the commune and features sand, rocky platforms, and some pebbles. It has a gentle slope and shallow depths. The beach is unmonitored and has a bathing season from 15 June to 15 September.

Location

Located in the commune of Barfleur, Manche (50), Basse-Normandie region, at the northeastern tip of the Cotentin Peninsula. A parking area with 20 to 30 unmarked spaces is available near the beach. There is a slipway providing access to the beach.

Facilities

Parking available (20 to 30 unmarked spaces). No lifeguards (unmonitored bathing). No sanitary facilities. Slipway access to the beach. No restrictions on animals are specified.

Season

15 June to 15 September.

Water Quality

Monitoring was conducted under Directive 2006/7/CE. The vulnerability profile identified potential pollution sources including fecal indicator organisms, coastal discharges, wastewater treatment, stormwater, agricultural activities, and moorage zones.
