Néville-sur-Mer beach is located on the northeast coast of the Cotentin Peninsula in Manche, extending on either side of the Néville point near the rear-coastal marshes. The beach features sand and shingle on a medium slope. The area is bordered by the coastal communes of Réthoville and Gouberville.

Coastal bathing water body adjacent to the Cotentin Peninsula, influenced by tidal currents and marshes of Néville.

Location

Néville-sur-Mer, Manche department (50), Basse-Normandie region. The beach is situated facing road RD 514. Parking is available in a natural parking area.

Facilities

No sanitary facilities. No lifeguard post. Manual beach cleaning performed by the Community of Communes of Saint-Pierre-Eglise and Association Astre three times per year (end of March, end of June, end of September). Natural parking area available.

Water Quality

Water quality monitoring conducted under Directive 2006/7/CE. Historical classification data available under previous Directive 76/160/CEE. Monitoring includes analysis of fecal contamination markers. Shellfish quality also monitored in the zone.

Risks

Potential pollution sources identified including domestic wastewater, non-collective sanitation systems, rainwater discharge, agricultural activities, artisanal and industrial activities, port and mooring zone activities, and camping/mobile home facilities.
