Water
Natural inland lake (lagoon) of mixed tectonic and dissolution origin. Part of the Gigüela River basin within the Guadiana River hydrographic district. Beach composed of medium and coarse sand. Lake bed formed of silts and clays. Elevation 650 m. Water sources include runoff, direct precipitation, groundwater discharge, and water transfers from Gigüela River.
Location
Located approximately 5 km north of Villafranca de los Caballeros by road CM-3158. Access via CM-400 to Avenida de las Lagunas, then left onto CM-3158, followed by a left turn onto the 'Urbanización Lagunas' deviation after 2.5 km. Parking available at all three bathing zones.
Facilities
Zone B1 (Orilla Banderas): Parking, lifeguards, information signs, bar, picnic areas, rubbish bins, toilets, showers, recreational zone, refuse collection. Zone C1 (Orilla Cerro): Parking, information signs, bar, picnic areas, rubbish bins, toilets, showers, recreational zone, private pool, refuse collection. Zone D1 (Orilla Jorja): Parking, information signs, bar, picnic areas, rubbish bins, toilets, showers, private pool, refuse collection. All zones have no domestic animal access, no fountains, and no boat ramps.
