Menhir Beach is located in Goulven Bay in the commune of Plounéour-Brignogan-Plages. The beach features a sailing club and a sand yacht evolution zone. The area uses individual sewage treatment systems. The beach was classified as good quality in 2017 according to the 2006 directive.

Water

Marine beach located in Goulven Bay on the western edge. The beach is sheltered from open ocean swell. Water currents on the beach are moderate.

Location

Plounéour-Brignogan-Plages commune, located on the western edge of Goulven Bay. The watershed area covers approximately 44 hectares and extends from the town centre down the coastal strip.

Facilities

Sailing club present. Additional sports facilities include archery and mountain biking. At least two sanitary installations required as part of organized bathing area infrastructure.

Season

Bathing season monitoring conducted annually. Profile revision required based on water quality classification: good quality classification requires revision by 31 December 2017.

Water Quality

Classified as good quality in 2017 according to EU Directive 2006/7/CE. Water quality monitoring conducted by ARS (Regional Health Agency). Historical analysis of raw data and contamination episodes documented.

Risks

Potential pollution sources identified within the watershed include individual sewage treatment installations, urban development, and agricultural activity. Contamination episodes analyzed in relation to rainfall, seasonality, and tidal coefficients.
