Le Morelle is a sandy beach in Castel Volturno, in the Campania region of Italy. The bathing water area is characterized by a sandy coastline with moderate urbanization along the coast and more intense development inland. The beach is weakly influenced by the Volturno River.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2019–2022). The bathing water receives wastewater discharges from multiple municipalities via the Volturno River and its tributaries. Some municipalities (Alife, Riardo, Dragoni, Valle Agricola, and parts of Teano) have non-operational treatment plants or no treatment. Other municipalities have biological active sludge wastewater treatment plants, some partially non-operational.

Risks

The bathing water is weakly influenced by the Volturno River, which receives urban wastewater from municipalities with varying levels of treatment infrastructure.
