Plage des Montiers is a bathing beach located in Erquy, Côtes-d'Armor department in France. The beach is situated along the maritime coast and is used for recreational swimming and water activities. The beach has a sloped profile descending to the sea and is subject to tidal influences typical of the Atlantic coast. Water quality monitoring has been conducted from 2012 to 2015 to assess bacteriological conditions.

Location

Erquy, Côtes-d'Armor, France. Parking areas are available to the north of the beach along the road leading to the port. A boat launch ramp is located at the beach level. The beach can be accessed via a path near the old wash house.

Water Quality

Bacteriological water quality monitoring was conducted from 2012 to 2015. Quality classifications were established for the bathing water. The area is subject to various potential pollution sources including wastewater systems, agricultural runoff, stormwater networks, and the Islet estuary. Shellfish production zones in the area have sanitary classifications defined by prefectural order.

Risks

Potential pollution risks identified from stormwater discharge outlets, wastewater systems, agricultural activities, and river flows from the Islet estuary. Macro-algae proliferation potential and phytoplankton development are assessed for the area.
