Coastal waters. Area extends 1.907 km². Seabed slope averages 1% from the waterline to the 5-meter isobath. Sediment granulometry includes particles less than 0.062 mm and greater than 2 mm.

Location

Montegiordano, Cosenza Province, Calabria, Italy. The bathing area is located in front of agricultural territories north of Fosso Acinapuro.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: excellent. The area is monitored by Regione Calabria, the municipality, ASP, 118, and Arpacal. Short-duration pollution events have been identified from agricultural runoff at the mouth of Canale Rendeti and Fosso del Lupo.

Risks

Agricultural runoff from short-duration pollution events occurs from the mouth of Canale Rendeti and Fosso del Lupo. No cyanobacterial or algal blooms have been recorded in the past four years.
